Things have been super madhouse crazy around here. From my mastitis to planning my mom's 60th & C's 3rd birthday, I have been feeling like there was so much to do in so little time. We actually weren't going to have a 'party' (with friends) for C's 3rd this year. With our new little bundle of joy, and all of the new adjustments, it has been hard to even find time to sleep. With two kids, there never seems to be enough time in the day. As our baby bear's birthday got closer & closer, I started to feel guiltier and guiltier.
C has been such a great sister and has been so helpful with her new little sister. She never acted out, but started doing many things in her own way to show us that she wanted attention. Just one little example is she when I would be feeding her younger sis, she would all the sudden tell me she had to go to the bathroom. Of course I would have to put baby girl down, and go with C because (I still like to help her wipe etc). We would get there, and she'd try to take all the time in the world and just do nothing and kind of start hugging me. At first, I thought that she just didn't have to go anymore, but as this started to become routine every time I would feed the baby, I caught on and just knew what she was doing.
My heart breaks into pieces when I think about the things she does in her own way to show us she needs us. She never tells me she is upset or cries about it, she just has her own way of showing me she needs attention and love. She's growing up so fast, and there is always going to be a special place in my heart for her~ she's my firstborn. As a mom of 2, I think the biggest struggle for me has been how to show both of my girls I love them equally. It seems so difficult and impossible at times because if I'm I am doing something with one, then I feel bad for the other.
With that said, we decided that C needed to have a big special day all for her own, where all the attention was on her. The party took a lot of work, and there were so many little details! It was totally worth it, though I don't want to see another pair of scissors, a glue gun, ruler, or the illustrator screen again for the next ten years

Chloe and I decided to spend the afternoon making Halloween goodies for all of her teachers and good friends~ what a project this was! I can't take full credit for this idea~~ I actually got the idea to do huge rice crispy treat cupcakes from my sister who made them for my surprise baby shower. We loved them so much that we just had to eat them, I mean make them again~this time Halloween style! =P
Chloe had so much fun this afternoon~ it totally occupied her for 3 hours! Candy, marshmallows, and frosting. What more could a girl ask for?
The froster ... make that the frosting-eating monster. Yes, someone was VERY hyper and didn't take a good nap this afternoon ><~
Made eight of these bad boys. The end product! Wrapped with love, and ribbon of course~! ♥

Halloween Rice Crispy Treat Cupcake
These bad boys are so easy to make, and easier if you have a toddler to help you! =P All you need is:
Just melt the butter first in a big deep wok style pan, and then add half a bag of marshmallows to it. Wait until the mixture is gooey, and then add half your bag of kris-pies. Stir the mixture up with a wooden spoon, and gently drop into half the cupcake mold. Repeat this with the rest of the butter, marshmallows, and rice krispies. Just pour it into the other half of the cupcake mold. Wait 10 minutes and then when the mixture is still warm (but not too hot) use your hands to press the mixture firmly into each mold making sure it fits into all of the crevices. After 20 minutes just turn the mold over, and flip both parts out! Put em' together~ You've now got a giant cupcake you get to frost with your fave frosting. Have fun decorating!
I grew up watching Star Wars, maybe because of the handsome Harrison Ford, but most definitely for the Science Fiction fun! Now, my two boys and my husband and I make a Star Wars junkie family. All things Star Wars from Clothes, books, toys and now to our collection... COOKIE CUTTERS!! I'm so excited that they have Boba Fett and Darth Vader!! If your family loves Star Wars and themed parties are in your future, this is a great buyt from Williams-Sonoma. Here's their 20% off coupon code: STARWARS20.
The makers of Shaun the Sheep and Wallace and Gromit have taken one of their tiniest characters and made him a kids favorite! Its time for 'TIMMY TIME'! My son loves this little sheep Timmy - and when the 20minutes of Timmy fun are over, he's looking for more. Timmy is the baby sheep of Shawn the Sheep's herd. In his own show, he goes to nursery school and even has a best friend in the little duck. His favorite color is blue and he loves trains. Sounds like a little boy I know. Though it does get frustrating for a mommy to watch - only to hear a lot of animal noises and no real words, the kids love the universal body language of squeeks, snorts and meows. Every show ends happily with a new lesson to be learned. This show's review also ends with a happy ending. Two Thumbs up!

Recognize this face? The Blythe Doll! By the pull of a string, her eye color changes in four different shades. Meant to be a popular doll for kids in the 1970's, the Blythe doll was short lived. She got a very unfavorable response. Then in the 1970's a photographer Gina Garan's photos of the Blythe Doll photographed against real scenic backdrops drew out collectors and fans of a new kind.
This doll became more and more popular over the years and the price tag for a Japanese Takara doll (licensed replicas made in the 2000's) will run you somewhere from $59 - $300 and up for new dolls.
You may have seen her photos like the ones here. But now, license owner of the Blythe doll (Hasbro) has just released the Blythe doll with their popular toy brand - "The Littlest Pet Shop". Found on Amazon.com on sale starting at $13 from a retail price of $15, the Blythe doll is making a noticable return. Arguably, he may not be the cutest doll on your shelf, but grabbing one box for yourself might give you a happier return in the future.
Maybe it won't be popular with young girls who actually play with their dolls (that's what the doll forums are saying), but for the young girl in us who still like dressing up little dolls as a hobby, this is an opportunity to buy a piece of history in the making. Somewhat like the first edition copy of Harry Potter - volume one!
She may be shortlived in the mainstream market once again. So, if you like collecting or want to start your kids collection, don't let this great price pass you by or you'll say, "Oh Blythe!"
As a mommy, I was fond of Build A Bear stores since I've seen how much money parents are spending per doll, but after going to a birthday event at a local Build A Bear store, I was pleasantly surprised that you can get a full outfit like the ones above and a stuffable bear from $10 to start. For a $25 gift, this is a great one for any kid of any age. Thanks to a fellow Korean American mommy on our facebook page, we now can share with you that they are making costumes based on national country costumes such as above. Shown from left top to right bottom: Girls Hanbok, Girls Cheongsam, Girls Kimono, Boys Kimono - All $15 and includes the whole set as seen per outfit. A great birthday gift and special milestone gift (potty training) etc.
What kinds of build a bear costumes would you choose?
