Is it just me or is there a baby boom going on this year! Is it
because of the white tiger? Or maybe it's just that all my friends are
at that age... :) Last month, I co-hosted my 4th baby shower of the
year for our close friends Lisa & Eubin. When I first started
planning, I asked if there were any specific details they'd like to
incorporate or things they didn't want. Lisa just wanted it to be
co-ed. Eubin told me that he didn't want anything cheesy or typical of
a baby shower. In fact, he said he likes the color black, and just to
make sure all the guys have a good time.

Save The Date / Invitations
Since Eubin is an art director/designer (he custom designed YSB
& my wedding save the dates & invites), I wanted to make sure
the shower invites were unique, and that the theme was present
throughout all the elements. So I used a NY skyline silhouette and
added on a clothesline with just a few baby clothes, and a crawling
baby to make it more fitting for a baby shower. The invites were mailed
in black envelopes with white labels printed with the same baby blue
onesie on a clothesline. I used the onesie throughout other shower
details too.
Location / Tribeca Park Lounge
We had the shower at my friend's building lounge which has separate
sitting & dining areas, and included an outdoor terrace with an
amazing view of the river. We got lucky with the sunny weather so
people could go outside - we def needed the space because almost
everyone rsvped yes and we had about 50 guests. But we were unlucky
because it felt like 105 degrees that day, and the AC was not working
to full blast so with everyone there, and food in the oven, it was SO
HOT. Poor Lila had beads of sweat the whole time.

Decorations
The empty clothesline was originally supposed to hold polaroid
photos of the guests. We were going to ask guests to write little
messages on the bottom, but we didn't get many pics of people.
Raffle
Instead of playing games, we did 3 raffles.
Food & Drinks
The terrace includes a grill so we had burgers & hotdogs, as
well as other mini bites, fries, salads. Lisa's SIL also made a yummy
and beautiful mozzarella & tomato app. For drinks, we had juices,
bloody marys, and the usual sodas, water, beer, etc. Originally, I
wanted to set up a shaved ice / paht bingsoo station for dessert but
decided last minute to let it go since we already had a candy bar. Too
bad, bc it was SO hot that day.

Kids Goody Bags & Shower Favors
For the adults favors, we did a variation on the shot of milk &
cookies by giving out NY souvenir shot glasses and individual horizon
milk. I also made Meli & Angi
cookies to look like traditional NY black & white cookies
personalized with "baby kim 2010" since they still didn't have a name
yet.
CONGRATULATIONS LISA, EUBIN & BABY SKYLER :)
