Things have been super madhouse crazy around here. From my mastitis to planning my mom's 60th & C's 3rd birthday, I have been feeling like there was so much to do in so little time. We actually weren't going to have a 'party' (with friends) for C's 3rd this year. With our new little bundle of joy, and all of the new adjustments, it has been hard to even find time to sleep. With two kids, there never seems to be enough time in the day. As our baby bear's birthday got closer & closer, I started to feel guiltier and guiltier.
C has been such a great sister and has been so helpful with her new little sister. She never acted out, but started doing many things in her own way to show us that she wanted attention. Just one little example is she when I would be feeding her younger sis, she would all the sudden tell me she had to go to the bathroom. Of course I would have to put baby girl down, and go with C because (I still like to help her wipe etc). We would get there, and she'd try to take all the time in the world and just do nothing and kind of start hugging me. At first, I thought that she just didn't have to go anymore, but as this started to become routine every time I would feed the baby, I caught on and just knew what she was doing.
My heart breaks into pieces when I think about the things she does in her own way to show us she needs us. She never tells me she is upset or cries about it, she just has her own way of showing me she needs attention and love. She's growing up so fast, and there is always going to be a special place in my heart for her~ she's my firstborn. As a mom of 2, I think the biggest struggle for me has been how to show both of my girls I love them equally. It seems so difficult and impossible at times because if I'm I am doing something with one, then I feel bad for the other.
With that said, we decided that C needed to have a big special day all for her own, where all the attention was on her. The party took a lot of work, and there were so many little details! It was totally worth it, though I don't want to see another pair of scissors, a glue gun, ruler, or the illustrator screen again for the next ten years
