<Baby YJ's 1st Dol party @ Maggiano's Little Italy>
It's amazing how many fun and memorable 1st Dol parties I've been with. But, I am especially grateful for some inspirational people or 'Moms' to be more specific I've met & became friends with.
<Baby YJ's 1st Dol Party @ Maggiano's>
Baby YJ's party became more special than ever because of the passion YJ's mom showed during the almost 4 months long preparation. The banner / backdrop was approx 20 somewhat feet long, custom made by YJ's mother to be hung from the top wall of maggiano's banquet room. Throughout the months, we've kept the channel of communication open wide and tried new ideas as our goal was to achieve the fusion look. Not too traditional, yet enough elements to show off the Korean tradition to non- Korean guests.
Next to the fusion style Dol table, we've set up an area with Korean traditional 6 panel screen with traditional floor cushions just for the children. All children's entertainment such as magic show, etc was held right in this spot.

By putting few cup cakes and Traditional pocket "Ju Muh nee" on the table, the combination became guest centerpiece on it's own.
With many ideas for favor on the plate, we decided to go with the tradition of giving away dukk as well as making sure every guest ended up with a traditional hand made cell phone accessory. Every seat / plate had a different colored traditional cell phone accessory on it to greet the guests.

< Baby YJ's Guest Book table...>
Guest book table was set up with traditional Dol Jabi items for a male (Bow, Arrow, Thread, Rice, traditional Coins, etc) as well as guest name cards, and YJ's set of silver items such as spoons, bowls, cups, etc.
